My Favorite Books

I love books!!!!

redesigning Redesigning HUMAN'S : the Inevitable Genetic Future by Gregory Stock

The author of this book is a very admirable and important person for me because he has changed my future dream!! He is a professor wrote about cloning and he supports cloning technology unlike many people. I was against cloning, but when I listened to Dr Gregory Stock saying in his interview about his book, “Clones are the same thing as twins biologically. And when the technology develops, usually an unexpected thing becomes big problem, for example, before Internet became popular, no one expects spam mails were going to be a big problem. Therefore, developing technology must not be intervened.” After that, I read his book because he interested me and he totally changed my mind!! Now, I want to engage in genetic engineering projects in the future!!

Harry Potter and the Sorcerer's Stone by J. K. Rowling

This is the first book I read in English!! That was almost six years ago; I read it using my dictionary. There were so many words I don't know so I had really hard time and it took about six months to read it. When I finished reading it, the movie came out. When I watched it, I really surprised because it was very different from what I had just read..... I just misinterpreted the story..... lol

MOMO by Michael Ende

I have just read it recently in English. I read this story for the first time, when I was in primary school, of course, in Japanese. I have a cherished memory on this story; when I was fifteen, I played the role of the heroine in the school play!! I really enjoyed playing it. This book is great for busy people. In this story, some bad people offer people the service of time bank to rip off People's time, and people who trust them started to deposit their time so people started to be busy and they don't have really time to talk to each other anymore like they did before. Momo did not believe that system and tried to get their time back..... You might say it is just fantasy but it is not only fantasy, this book is something that probably makes us
realize how important the time is and of importance of living right now as well as living for future.

 The stolen by Alex Shearer

This is basically a children's book but don't underestimate it!! you can't really expect what is going to happen next!! In this story, old witches stole young kids' bodies and they interchanged bodies and souls. So, the young kids started to try to get their bodies back, but......

Confessions of Shopaholic by Sophie Kinsella

This is totally HILARIOUS!!! The girl in this book, Becky, is addicted to shopping and she is in a huge debt and got into a lot of troubles..... This sounds kind of serious but reality is super funny!! Things that happen to her are a little bit extreme, but if you are a girl, I bet you understand how Becky feels at least a little?!
There are three more books for Becky's story: Shopaholic Takes Manhattan,
Shopaholic Ties the Knot, and Shopaholic & Sister and all of them are great!!

And Then They were None by Agatha Christie

This is by the Queen of Mystery!! Ten people are stuck in the isolated island and someone kills one by one... Once you started to read, you just can't stop reading it. I read the climax at the midnight, so I couldn't go to bathroom that night because I was scared of my imagination that someone I don't know was in the room to wait for me to kill or something. lol.

The little Prince by Antoine De Saint-exupèry

When I was ten years old, I read this book for the first time but I didn't like this book because I couldn't really understand what the author wanted to say. However, after I got older, I read it again, I understood a little bit more than I had done when I was a kid. So I think when I can fully understand this book, maybe I can call myself "grown up." This book is like my bible...
My favorite quote is... the fox says "It is only with the heart that one can see rightly; what is essential is invisible to the eye."

Angels and Demons by Dan Brown

This is the first story of Mr Langdon, the main character of Da Vinci Code. Da Vinci Code became really popular but I personally like this one, Angels and Demons. There are any codes in this book too and you'll be surprised and excited!
