Andy Warhol was born in poor family, so he had to work during his vacation
when he was young. Once, he worked in a department store. It was the first time he touched
advertisement world. After he graduated from the Carnegie Institute of Technology (now Carnegie Mellon University)
where he
majored in pictorial design, he went to New York. And he started his career as
a commercial artist of magazine. He became famous, but he wanted to be an artist,
not a commercial artist. He made himself unique with silver wig and interesting comments.
And he changed his art style completely. The style was, as you know, silkscreen prints of
Marilyn, Cambel's Soup Cans, and so on.
He also made several movies like Chelsea Garls.
In 1968, he was shoten by Valerie Solanis, founder and sole member of
SCUM(Society for Cutting Up Men). He got hurted badly, but didn't died.
In 1970s, he was published his own magazine, Interview.
Following routine gall bladder surgery, Andy Warhol died February 22, 1987.
