Otaku

What is Otaku?

		The left picture is the stereotype of "Otaku". In his hands, he hold a doll called "figure".  The doll looks more like real human. In image that many people have, Otaku is long hair and wearing grasses. In addition, they are expert of computers. Ordinary people tend to think that Otaku wear white shirts and they put skirt of shirts in jeans. However, I do not think it is true. In fact, some of them are interested in two dimensional pictures strongly, but not all of them. Now, I should say that Otaku is not always 2channeler. What kind of image of Otaku do you have?

		Both pictures are "Densha-otoko" and the main character is Otaku. Why 2channelers are considered Otaku? One of the answers may be that 2channeler are expert of computer. They know many professional terms. What is the difference between "Mania" and "Otaku"? This is very difficult question, but many Japanese feel that the term "Otaku" has  negative image.
